The Process

Every year, YIP sends a representative to Israel in order to meet with both heads of institutions and current gap-year students to cultivate an understanding of the situation on the ground.

YIP confidentially meets with Yeshivot and other programs to understand their policies and perspectives on gay students. These standards will then be discreetly relayed to the appropriate prospective students. We also function in a consulting capacity, offering advice and perspective on new situations upon request.

High school seniors looking to maximize their year in Israel from a personal, religious, or learning skills standpoint can privately email YIP for one-on-one guidance to help with choosing and applying to the yeshiva that will benefit them most. There are many factors in picking the right Yeshiva, not only for LGBT students; we try to suggest the best match accounting for all considerations.
